Physical Education
At the start of the school year the students are introduced to “cooperative games”. They learn teamwork, cooperation, problem solving strategies and sportsmanship.
Cooperative games are followed by a soccer unit. The students work on footwork, passing and shooting to make a goal.
Fitness Monopoly
Our soccer unit is followed by a Fitness Monopoly unit. This is a monopoly type board game. When a student lands on a spot it might contain a physical activity or ask a health, science or art question. This unit is intended to bring the students together while providing a physical activity and a learning experience at the same time.
Basketball
We finished a basketball unit. We learned how to dribble, chest pass and bounce pass. After we mastered these skills, we started working on shooting, footwork, rebounding and defense.
TEAM HANDBALL
We finished Team Handball. This was a very fast paced game where you were only allowed to have the ball for 3 seconds then it had to be passed on to another teammate. This made the students work together and gave everyone a chance to participate.
Title.
We finished our Archery Unit and had a blast hitting the targets and the balloons. On the last day if anyone got a bulls eye Darcy had to do 20 push ups. They had the best aim ever :)
